My first year blogging draws to a close...

I’d like to say thanks to everyone who left comments on my posts this past year or so – the 3 Column Minima guide seems to have been especially popular, I’m glad it proved helpful to some.

I haven’t been posting as often as I would have liked, largely because I have been studying the excellent open source content management system Joomla!

With a bit of luck and a lot of work I hope to be in a position to create Joomla! based websites in the near future.

On another note I’m turning 40 in a week or so. I recall being a bit nonplussed about turning 30, but 40 is a totally different ballgame – quite hard to get the head around really...

Especially with all the bleak things going on in the world at the moment. But whenever I get hit by a wave of uncertainty I'm reminded of a quote from Lord of the Rings:

"All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us..."

Attempting to accomplish something meaningful is all any of us can hope for I guess...but enough midlife crisis angst ;)

I intend to continue posting about Blogger, and I hope to also touch on Joomla! at some point but I may start an entirely separate blog for that subject.

Anyway thanks again to all who read my blog and I hope to add a lot more useful content in the weeks and months ahead.
